Tempa Faye Morris (nee Leadingham), 84, passed away August 19, 2020 after several years of declining health. Tempa was born in February 28, 1936, in Firebrick, Kentucky, to the late Kearney and Letha Leadingham.
Tempa (often known as Faye) and her late husband, Chester Harr, moved to the Columbus area in 1965 and settled in Grove City in 1968, where they raised their five sons. Always the disciplinarian, she never uttered the words, "Wait till your father gets home". However, the love of her family was paramount in everything she did.
Tempa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years, Chester Harr, her son Anthony, and her sisters Hazel Green, Blanche Hall, and Gladys Ratliff.
She is survived by husband, Elmer Morris of Lancaster, sons Samuel (Donna) Harr of Columbus, Kevin (Tracey) Harr of Grove City, Brian (Susan) Harr of Medina, and Scott (Ann) Harr of Delaware. Also surviving are step-children Steve (Tammy) Morris and Dreama Boyd of Cygnet, Charlie (Diane) Morris of Groveport, Sherry Morris of Obetz and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Additionally, sisters Beatrice Bowling, Patsy (Arvil, Jr.) Murray of Waverly, Sue (Jerry) Ratliff of South Shore, Kentucky and brother, Jesse (Pam) Leadingham of Bedford, Indiana survive.
Funeral service will be held Monday, August 24, 2020, at 12:00 pm at Southwest Freewill Baptist Church, 1542 Greenleaf Road, Columbus, Ohio. Pastor John Meade will officiate. The family will receive visitors at 10:00am until time of service at 12:00 noon, at the church. Interment to follow at Field of Honor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Southwest Freewill Baptist Church, or Hospice of Central Ohio.
