The Rev. Charles F. (Chuck) Cooley, 95, died at 10 p.m. March 21, 2014, at Otterbein Cridersville.
He was born June 27, 1918, in Ashtabula to Merrill F. and Nelle E. Copeland Cooley, who preceded him in death.
On Feb. 28, 1942, he married (Martha) Louise Knipper, who died Jan. 26, 2009.
He was a United Methodist pastor, having been director of King's Way Fellowship at King Ave. UMC (1969-84) and pastor of Westgate U.M.C (1984-88). Before moving to Columbus, he was in campus ministry at Ohio U. and Western Michigan U.
Survivors include his brother, Franklin (Alice) Cooley, of Elida; a niece Sharon (William) Kelley, of Springfield; three nephews, William Cooley, David (Amada) Cooley, and Kevin (Barb) Cooley, all of Lima; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 10:00am-11:00am at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231 followed by a memorial service at 11:00am.
