Thelma (Mickey) Caudill, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on December 5, 2025 after a long and brave battle with dementia. She was born on November 18, 1931 to the late Naomi and Wilford Cashman. She is preceded in death by her 1st husband Donald Besonen, her 2nd husband John Caudill, her children Deb VanHorn, Steve Besonen, Scott Besonen, Tammy Besonen, grandchildren Jeremy VanHorn, Jamie VanHorn, Shane Arnold, Jason Besonen. Survived by children Dawn Cash, Diane (Chris) LeVaillat, Terry (Randy) Arnold, daughter-in-law Dottie Besonen, step children Mike Caudill, Linda McDaniels, David Caudill, Jennifer Lintz, grandchildren DJ Cash, Jennifer Houghtaling, Shawn Peterman, Tesa Arnold, Christopher Besonen, Brittany Besonen, Scott VanHorn and many great grandchildren.
She retired from Doctors West Hospital after 30+ years of service. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, gardening, canning, exercising, and countless years of visits her and John made to the nursing homes.
She was a long time member of Southwest Freewill Baptist Church, where her songs of faith touched the hearts of many.
Although the disease clouded her final years, the legacy of her love, strength and devotion to her family and her unwavering love for her Heavenly Father will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Thank you mom, for all the joy and unconditional love you have brought to our lives as our mother, our mentor and our hero.
Your presence and consistent love has taught us how to handle all life's situations with trust and resilience. You led with Grace and we couldn't be prouder to be a part of you.
Though we are heart broken, we will take comfort in the countless, beautiful memories you leave behind.
Friends may call at Southwest Freewill Baptist Church, 1542 Greenleaf Rd., Columbus, OH 43223 on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 11:00am until time of service at 12:00pm with Pastor John Meade Sr officiating. Burial to follow at Alton Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the church or the American Alzheimer's Association.
