Theodore "Ted-Oops" Hartzel, 88, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 at his residence.

He was born May 4, 1931 in Willard, OH, son of the late Theodore and Rosemary Myers Hartzel.

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Fields Hartzel; sister, Jeannine Camiscioni and grandsons, Craig, "C.J." and Chris.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Brad Williams) Varney; sons, Jim (Terri) Leitz, Gary (Sandra) Hartzel, Bob Leitz, Scott (MaryAnne) Hartzel and Kevin (Holly) Strecker; brother, Jeff "Pudge" (Barbara) Hartzel; grandchildren, Shane (Michelle), Mindy, Anna, John, Bob Jr. (Bobbie Jo), Mike (Ginger), Erica, Amy, Craig (Candance), Shawn (Amy), Dustin, Jacob (Jessica), Seth, Danny, Gabriel, Trisha, Logan and many great and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City, with the funeral service beginning at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice, c/o Mt. Carmel Foundation 6150 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43213.
