Thomas Walter Baker, born on April 9, 1957, passed away on January 8, 2026, after a brave ten-month battle with three types of cancer. Thomas dedicated 40 years of his life to Ohio State University, where he served as the security supervisor. He earned his Associate's degree in criminology at Columbus State, which laid the foundation for his long and fulfilling career.
Thomas was known as a great father, always kind, goofy, and smart. He loved to joke around with his children, Patrick Baker and Theresa Baker, creating joyful memories that will last a lifetime. Summers were especially special as he spent time swimming with his kids and enjoying adventures down the slip-n-slide.
Beyond his family, Thomas had a passion for sports, loving to play tennis and golf whenever he could. He took great pride in his family, finding joy in their accomplishments, and cherishing the time spent together. His granddaughter, Reagan Wilson, brought him immense happiness.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Baker; children, Patrick Baker and Theresa Baker; granddaughter, Reagan Wilson; brothers, Bobby Baker and Johnny Baker; and sisters, Carol Baker and Susie Blair. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Baker; mother, Theresa Baker; and brother, Danny Baker.
Thomas Walter Baker will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and loving spirit, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family and the countless memories they shared.
A memorial Mass and celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
