Thomas Joseph Della Flora, 68, born in Columbus, OH on June 19, 1958, passed away July 27, 2026. He was preceded in death by parents, Janice and Hugo Della Flora, and son, Evan. Thomas is survived by son, Michael (Lauren) Della Flora; grandchildren, Nico, Allison and Scottie; siblings, Anthony, Daniel (Sue), Joseph (Mary), John (the late Cathy), and Ann; nieces and nephews, Teo, Vincent, Danielle, Angela, Maria (goddaughter), Alex, Michelangelo, Christian, and Julia.
Thomas attended Bishop Watterson High School and graduated from The Ohio State University. Known as "Double L," he was a long time Muffin (The Ohio Village Muffins). He was the ultimate ambassador for his vintage baseball community and Muffin Meadow was his second home.
He attended St. Timothy Catholic Church growing up, and later Rock City Church where he was baptized in March 2026. This church brought him so much comfort, peace, and a newfound spirituality that he had never felt in his entire life; especially after losing his eldest son unexpectedly in 2016 and his terminal brain cancer diagnosis (Glioblastoma/Gliosarcoma) in October of 2025.
Thomas loved traveling. He explored his heritage with his entire family on a two week bucket list trip. They went to Pordenone, Italy where the Della Floras are originally from and visited his favorite place in the world, Budapest, Hungary. He obtained dual citizenship from Italy due to his deep Italian roots. Thomas also loved his many family trips to Ocean Isle Beach, where he has requested his ashes to be spread with his son.
He loved watching all kinds of sports, including anything OSU, especially football. Go Buckeyes! He also cheered on the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, the Columbus Crew, New York Knicks and Chicago Blackhawks. Above all, Thomas loved his family, especially his grandchildren. His dedication to his family was unmatched. No matter what he was doing, he was always there.
