Today, we mourn the loss of a truly incredible man who touched so many lives. 

Thomas Allen Powers 

July 9th 1950 ~August 11th, 2026

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, brother and a man of faith who served as a pastor & psychiatrist. Dedicated his life to helping and loving others.

Thomas (Tom) is survived by his wife Aletha of 21 years. His daughters; Sarah (Rich), Michelle, Casie (Michael), Christina (Allen) Ashley (Daniel). Grand Children; Amanda (Marcus), Zack (Gabby),Jordan (Jessica), Angelica (Douglas), Maria (Isaac), Kody (Erica), Frankie, Jesse, Shyla, Noah, Junior, Carter and Tommy along with 10 Great grandchildren. Plus our Buster & Annann 

He was preceded in death by his parents (Ben & Jane) Brother's; Mark, Kenny, Buddy and Scott, along with Snoop and Misty gray.

He had a heart that made room for everyone. He never hesitated to show us what unconditional love truly looked like. His faith, kindness, wisdom, and the way he cared for others will leave a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was a proud Marine who was honored with the Purple Heart. Served in the M3-7 marine regiment battalion.A Veteran who served his country with courage and honor. He spent his life serving others—first his country, then his family, his church and his community.

Tom loved spending time with his wife and grand children, working with any type of wood bringing it back to life, you could always catch him on a Saturday cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Tom spent many hours in his study reading. Long walks with his dog.There will never be enough words to express how much he meant to us or how deeply he will be missed. We will carry his memory, his lessons, his faith, and his love with us always. Rest peacefully. Your work here is done, and we pray you are now in the loving arms of the Lord you served so faithfully. Until we meet again ..OH - IO Simper Fi. !!! OORAH !!!!

Visitation Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 10am until the time of Funeral Service at 12pm at Newcomer, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231.
