Thomas Thornton

Thomas Lamarr Thornton, born June 3, 1940, passed away January 16, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a successful businessman, loving husband, father and grandfather. An avid sportsman, he was a race car owner and driver, a licensed private pilot, rode motorcycles, sailed boats, collected old cars and enjoyed many years as a thoroughbred owner and breeder with his wife by his side.

He was a good friend to many, a proud Veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thellene; sister, Juanita; nephew, Phillip and father-in-law, Floyd.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Nancy; sons, Todd (Bill) and Ryan (Angela); grandchildren, Lauren and Thomas; mother-in-law, Mary; nieces, nephew and cousins.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, January 21, 2016, 3-5 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123, with a Memorial Service at 5:00 PM.
