Tillie L. Cattrell

Tillie L. Cattrell, 86, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 in Westerville, OH. Tillie was born on December 28, 1931 in Negley, OH to the late Samuel and Margaret (Guy) Zuch.

In addition to her parents, Tillie is preceded in death by her husband, William A. Cattrell; sister, Mildred Pruett; brother, Burt Zuch and daughter-in-law, Hope (Booth) Cattrell.

She is survived by her children, Bernie (Charissa) Cattrell, Louise (Bob) Kauffman, Ronald Cattrell and Paul (Betty) Cattrell; grandchildren, Charles, Marc (Allison) and Blake Cattrell, Brittany, Amy and James Kauffman, Kristina and Katianne Cattrell, Carrie and Mathew (Katie) Cattrell, Mattie (Candice) and Rachel Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Hunter Kauffman, Madilynn Patterson, Jason Cattrell, Malakai, Caleb and Carver Montgomery; sister, Evelyn Burton; brother-in-law, Don Pruett; sisters-in-law, Naomi Cox, Jackie Taylor and Mary Young; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tillie was a faithful follower of Christ. She had an independent spirit and demonstrated that by her arrival alone in Columbus at age 17 to pursue work. Tillie met and married Bill and started a family soon thereafter. She was a precious mother, loving and pushing her children to pursue life. Tillie was a life-long learner. She finished her Bachelor's degree at age 48 followed by her completion of two Master's degrees. Tillie was ordained by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and pastored at two churches in Northwest Ohio. She participated in multiple mission trips to various parts of the world with the hope of sharing the love of Christ with others. After retirement, she talked about getting a 'little' job, but was always too involved in volunteer ministry. Tillie was able to use everyday simple terms to help others understand God's word and His love for them. She was much loved by many family members and friends who miss her terribly already.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Heritage Christian Church, 7413 Maxtown Rd, Westerville, OH 43082. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11 am also at Heritage Christian Church. Pastor John Thomas, officiating. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Newcomer NE Chapel is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tillie's honor to Heritage Christian Church Missions or the charity of the donor's choice.
