Tommie Sue Burns, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 79. Born on January 25, 1947, in Harlan, Kentucky, Tommie Sue was a beacon of love, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Tommie Sue’s journey began in the close-knit community of Harlan, Kentucky, where she was nurtured by her late parents, Paul Harvey and Wilma Woolum Harvey. Surrounded by family, she learned early the importance of kindness, loyalty, and compassion—values that would guide her throughout her life.
As a devoted wife, Tommie Sue shared many cherished years with her husband, John Burns. Their bond provided a steadfast foundation for their family, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and understanding. Together, they raised their children, Stacie (Buford Scanlan) Cremeans and John Burns, Jr., teaching them through example about the strength found in unity and the comfort of unconditional love.
