Tommy Robertson Jr.

Tommy Robertson, Jr. passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 4, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He is predeceased by his parents: Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Mills-Robertson and Tommy Robertson, Sr. Tommy leaves to cherish his loving memories-- Daughter, Son In Law, and soon to be Grandchild: Erica, Michael and Baby Taylor of Dayton, OH; Sisters: Sheila Robertson Thomas, Tonnette Robertson, and Denise Robertson, all of Columbus, OH; Brother: Lenair (Azalia) Robertson, Sr. of Columbus, OH; Former wife of 30 years, Greta Staley Robertson of Westerville, OH. Tommy's early education was completed in the Columbus City Schools (Eleventh Avenue Elementary School, Linmoor Middle School, Linden McKinley High School). He is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University (BA) and the University of Detroit (MBA). As a young boy, Tommy loved science and reading. His favorite past time was playing chess and in high school, was a member of the Linden McKinley Chess Club. He also enjoyed canoeing, kayaking, racquetball, swimming, and tennis. After graduating from Ohio Wesleyan, Tommy worked in the banking industry for many years in Detroit, MI as well as in Columbus, OH. Tommy also worked with the United States Department of Small Business Development where he provided support to those interested in pursuing business development opportunities, assisted small business owners with their business plans and with obtaining small business loans. Tommy designed and launched several of his own businesses.

Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 11am until time of service at 1pm.
