Tomoko Richardson, 95 of Grove City passed on March 19, 2026. She was born in Tokyo, Japan to Matsusaburo & Masa Mashita who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her husband of 56 years Robert E. Richardson and a son George M. Richardson. Tomoko was a survivor of the attacks in Osaka during the 1945 WWII operations carried out across Japan. She had 5 brothers who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sisters Kimie (Keiichi ) Yamamoto and Mitsue Uetaki Mashita; daughter, Ava (Marc) Edwards; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Tomoko met her husband Robert in 1957 and they married in 1959 in Tokyo, Japan. She was a devoted homemaker and raised her children with the help of family in OH while Robert served in Vietnam. Tomoko had great appreciation for the United States of America and conscientiously became a US Citizen in 1976. Tomoko retired as a head cook from Glenmont Nursing Home, in Hilliard, OH after 17 years. Tomoko was a skilled cook who loved to prepare meals for her family and friends. She also loved to travel, bowl, play bingo and watch Westerns. The family would like to thank Mount Carmel Hospice for their care and support over the last 3 years.
Visitation Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, with Funeral Service starting at 1:30pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.
