Tonya Lea (Johnson) Morris, 68, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away June 29, 2020.
She was born in Marysville, OH on September 18, 1951 to the Glen and Wanda Johnson.
She is preceded in death by her father, Glen Johnson; son-in-law, Steven Watkins Jr.
Surviving family includes husband of 47 years Paul Morris; daughter, Natasha Watkins; grandsons, Zachary Hall, Jason Watkins; as well as other loving friends and family.
"I did nothing Great in living, But I did living VERY well!"- Tonya Morris
Paul and Tonya met by letter while Paul was serving his country overseas. In July of 1970, they finally met face to face after a year of communicating through the mail. They were married two years later on July 15th. 14 days from the day she passed they would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.
Friends and family said that our love would never last, yet here they are almost 50 years later still in love just like the first day they met.
Known to each other and close friends as "Tiger" and "Kitten", memories of their love will resonate with all who knew. Tonya was an avid animal lover and those pet names were coined from that love.
Tonya served as a teacher assistant for Northtown elementary and a Sunday school teacher for Christ Presbyterian Church. She home schooled her grandson and was a cornerstone to his educational foundation.
She will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be missed by all who loved her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6th, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home- NE 3047 East Dublin Granville Road with a graveside service immediately following at Northlawn Memory Gardens - Westerville, OH.
