Listen to Obituary

Tracy J Knowles, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on September 2, 2026, in Columbus. She was born on April 18, 1964, in Columbus, and will be remembered as a loving, kind, and giving woman with a great heart—the kind of person many would simply call the nicest person you could ever meet.

Tracy built a life centered on devotion to both family and work. She graduated from Franklin Heights High School and later received an Associate Degree in Business from Franklin University. She went on to work for 35+ years with the State of Ohio Board of Education, a remarkable commitment that reflected her steady nature and dedication.

She also found joy in the everyday things that made life rich and personal. Tracy loved to cook, enjoyed listening to music, and was an art enthusiast. She liked watching The Closer and was a loyal sports fan, especially when it came to the Steelers, Michigan football, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Some of the moments held closest by those who loved her include watching Steelers and Michigan games with her son Bob, the rides to and from work she shared with Lynette, and the many conversations she had with Brandon about video games, even when they were far outside her world. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family, especially her grandson.

Her proudest accomplishment was her family, and that love shaped the way she lived. Tracy is survived by her sons, Jeremy Knowles and his wife Caroline, Bob Knowles and Rio, and Brandon Knowles and Ally; by her beloved grandson, Banks Knowles; by her sister, Robin Fisher; by her sister-in-law, Lynette Ratliff; and by many nieces and nephews. She is also remembered with affection by her K-9 companions, Madea and Abby Knowles, who were part of the comfort and companionship of her home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Ramey, and her mother, Carolyn Ramey, née Southward; by her husband, Raymond “Bill” Knowles; by her father-in-law, Raymond W. Knowles, and her mother-in-law, Betty L. Knowles; and by her K-9 companions, Phoebe and Pudge Knowles.

Family and friends may gather for visitation on September 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. A memorial service will follow there at 1:00 p.m.

Tracy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the warmth she gave so freely, the laughter and comfort she brought to those around her, and the deep love she held for her family. Her memory will continue to live on in the stories, traditions, and quiet daily moments shared by those who knew her best.
