Ursula "Ulla" Brigitte Champney, 73, of Westerville, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at St. Ann's Hospital.
She was born July 16, 1941 in Hamburg, Germany, daughter of the late Peter Bernhard and Marie Elsa Dora Kai Kruse.
Ursula is survived by her loving husband Lynn Champney of 53 years; children, Denise (Adam) Montemarano, Brandon Champney, Craig Champney and Megan Champney; grandchildren, Clint (Laura) Keenan, Mandrea Feasel, Kyron Leslie and Angelica Champney; great granddaughter, Remington Ewing; brother, Heinz (Tiekla) Obst of Hamburg, Germany.
Ursula was a warm unconditionally loving mother who loved her family dearly.
She was always supportive, wise and a giver of herself.
All who were blessed to know her will sorely miss her.
Ursula's passion for sharing herself compelled her to foster parent many children throughout her life.
"Ulla" was a member of Northland Church of Christ for over 40 years where she volunteered in the pantry and taught children's bible class.
Her special love and nurturing of children lead her to be a kindergarten teacher's aide for Central Ohio Christian School for 20 plus years.
She was loved by many.
Visitation will be Monday, November 24, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 and 5:00-7:00 PM with memorial service following at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Blendon Central Cemetery 6340 Hempstead Rd. Westerville, OH 43081.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Willow Brook, 100 Delaware Crossing Delaware, OH 43015.
