Veloice McKinney

Veloice McKinney, 91, passed away peacefully and was welcomed into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 6, 2026. She was born to Anthony and Frona Elizabeth (Rowe) McKinney, in Betsy Layne, KY on March 31, 1934. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Reatheal Layne, Bernice Fitch, Phyllis Pinson, brothers Ben Alison, Denver Denton and Harry Tremble McKinney. She is also preceded in death by her former husband John Robert Bartlett and beloved granddaughter Natalie Duke Thomas.

She is survived by her daughters Deborah Duke (Thomas), and Patricia Leibold (John); grandchildren Rachel Duke Curatola (Justin), Holly Leibold Blei (John), Spencer and Lauren Leibold; and great grandchildren Jacob, Cailyn, Arabella and Ellanora Curatola, Madeline and Olivia Blei.

Veloice worked in furniture sales for most of her life. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed listening to gospel and country music. Most importantly, she had a deep love for the Lord and shared that with her family. Because of her unwavering devotion, her family carries Jesus in their hearts today.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH 43065. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery in New Albany.
