Vera Jenkins

Vera Jenkins, 95, of Columbus, passed away February 18, 2026. Vera was born near Cedarville, Ohio on January 31, 1931 to J. H. Thordsen and Dice (Miller) Thordsen, the third of five children. Vera was an elementary school teacher in the Westerville school system for nearly three decades. After retiring from teaching, she and her husband, Lynn Jenkins, relocated to Tipp City, Ohio, where they spent many years volunteering at the Upper Valley Medical Center. Vera and Lynn also traveled extensively with other barbershop music enthusiasts.

Vera will be deeply missed by her son Kevin Jenkins; grandchildren Blair (Jonah) Hughes, Patricia (Ben) Tate, Grant (Haileigh) Samuel; nine great-grandchildren; along with many other members of her family and dear friends.

Vera is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lynn Jenkins, daughter Neva Samuel and granddaughter Aubrey Samuel

Visitationwill be Monday, March 23 from 2pm until the time of service at 3pm at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Committee on Relief umcmission.org
