Verda B. Smith, 76, of Columbus, OH passed Saturday, August 30, 2014. Verda was born May 26, 1938, to Clarence C. and Luella B. Eden in Point Pleasant WV. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles A. Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle Ann and James Compton; brother, Kenneth Eden.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey C. Watkins and wife Shawna; daughter, Lisa D. Rookard and husband, Artie V. Rookard; grandchildren, Jeffrey C. Watkins, II, Ashley and Dr. Jason Feltz, Stefanie Fox, Sara and Adam Bush, Austin and Samantha McAllister, Kim and Lonnie Henegar, Carlee Hayes; great grandchildren, Kayden, Cameron, Carson, Kali, Colten, Hunter, Willow, Grace and Bailey; brothers, Clarence and William Eden.
Family will receive friends Thursday, September, 4, 2014, 5-7PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, September 5, 2014, 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior.
Entombment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1950 Arlingate Lane, Columbus, OH 43228.
