Vernon Earl Johnson

Vernon Earl Johnson, age 54. Born on March 30, 1962, he went home to be with his Lord on Monday, January 30, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Johnson, Sr. and his brother, John Johnson, Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Omega Johnson. He is also survived by his loving wife, Cherish Johnson and their children, Edwin and Jayden. His surviving siblings include Elma Johnson, Sarah Hibbler, Vertis (Annette) Johnson, Sheldon (Stella) Johnson, Curtis (Yahatta) Johnson, Dorothy (Kenneth Collins, Charlie (Frederick) Luckett. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Vernon worked for the City of Columbus for over 20 years. He was an avid Oakland Raiders fan and he enjoyed following the WWE Wrestling with his children. He was a loving husband and father, and he was a man of great faith. He was very close to his mother and loved all of his family. He was compassionate, giving, friendly, and always had a smile for everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, S.W., 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123 on Saturday, February 11, 2017. The visitation will be held from 12 noon until 3pm, at which time the services will be held.
