Listen to Obituary

Walter "Walt" Adam Kidd, age 77 was born on April 7, 1948,  in Lost Creek W.V. to his parents, Mac and Tennessee Kidd.

As a mischievous young boy, Walt found himself in hot water with his mother, more often than not. He retired from Inland products after serving more than 30+ years. He was an avid gun collector. Out of the collection, there were two pride and joys; his big brother Bob's shotgun, and the 44 Magnum. He’s always the jokester. He enjoyed making people laugh with his clean and not so clean jokes. He learned at an early age to pick the guitar. He loved picking the guitar and singing old country bluegrass music, with his favorite, George Jones. He loved George so much, that he grabbed his niece when George passed away and went to his funeral. In the summertime, if you couldn’t find Walt, more than likely he’d be laying on the ground under a shade tree yelling at one of the kids to stretch the water hose out to him so he could get a drink. He loved his westerns, Bonanza Gunsmoke and watched Andy Griffith and Beverly hillbillies reruns over and over for years. He talked on the CB radio under the handle, Lazy Farmer. He liked the fact that he could say whatever he wanted, ruffling some feathers, and nobody knew who he was. He was always there to help out many people somebody always calling him for a ride. He was on the road so much giving people rides. He ordered a magnet for the side of his car that said "Walt's Taxi", but didn’t charge them a dime. He would hold up a line at the green light digging money out of his pocket for the homeless person on the corner, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids he enjoyed sitting on the porch, daring them to do jumps off the deck into the pool, or just watching them ride their bikes.
Walt is proceeded in death by both his parents, his brother Robert (Bob) Kidd. sisters Roberta (Bert) Newsom. Maxine Caudill and grandson, Bobby Wray.
He is survived by his children, Walter (Lewie) Lou Kidd, Dianna (Charlie) Wray grandchildren, Shantanna, Brandon, Christopher (Wray), Missy (Ira) Turner,  Adam (Rachael ) Wray and Joseph. Along with several great grands, sister, Patty Kidd, many cousins nieces, and nephews close nephew, Jerry Kidd, a special Niece/caregiver MacKenzie (Mack) Gannon.
