Wanda Mae Farley, a beacon of love and strength, passed away on September 25, 2024, at the age of 67. Born on November 4, 1956, in Wheeling, West Virginia, she embodied resilience and vibrancy throughout her life. Wanda devoted 12 remarkable years to public service as deputy sheriff, working tirelessly in the prison system for six years before serving in Franklin County for the remaining six years. Her passion for her job was evident in the dedication she displayed every single day. She was not just a deputy sheriff; she was a guardian of her community, particularly proud of her accomplishments within the male population of the prison system.
Beyond her impressive career, Wanda was a devoted family woman. Surrounded by a loving family, she found pure joy in the company of her husband, Michael Farley, and her beloved grandson, Justice McCamick. Together, they created countless cherished memories, especially during their travels alongside dear friends Jack and Pricilla as well as their children. She was especially fond of the trip she took to Tennessee with her husband and grandchildren. It was in these excursions that Wanda's adventurous spirit truly shone, as she delighted in exploring new places and cherishing the time spent with loved ones.
Wanda's personality radiated warmth and humor, characterized by her dry wit and a touch of sarcasm. She had an uncanny ability to brighten the day of anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. A tough woman at heart, she faced life's challenges head-on, always emanating love and support despite the trials she encountered. Her laughter and strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
An avid collector of Boyds Bears and a fan of the beloved Taz from the Looney Tunes, Wanda had a zest for life that extended into her hobbies as well. She found solace in solving puzzles online, a testament to her inquisitive mind. In the kitchen, she was a great baker and cook, sharing those simple yet profound moments with Justice, who was not only her grandson but also her kitchen companion. Their time spent cooking was filled with laughter and learning, creating fond memories that would forever hold a special place in both of their hearts. Toward the end of her days, Wanda embraced nature with the same enthusiasm she approached life which was expressed through the expeditions through the woods with her grandson and husband as they created moments and memories they all treasured deeply.
