Wanda Jane Gamble-Jordan, 96, of New Albany, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Wanda was born on February 5, 1918 in Columbus, Ohio to Lester Gamble and Anna Davis-Gamble.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren of 54 years; one daughter, Barbara; sons, James and Donald; and one sister, Thelma Legue.
She is survived by her children, Larry, Gail (Maribeth), Robert (Mary), Terry (Cheryl), Pam, and Vickie; daughter-in-law, Kris; son-in-law, Lester; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; friends, Mary Yoakam, Judy Romine, Debbie Jordan, John Freschman, Margaret Bobo, and Florence Brasket.
Wanda was a graduate of Mifflin High School in 1936, the very first graduating class. She then graduated from Bliss College in 1938 with a business degree. She was a devoted housewife for 54 years and assisted her husband Loren in running their company, Loren Electric. Some of her favorite pastimes were playing cards with her kids, doing all the puzzles in the newspaper, jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, reading, and tending to her flowers and hummingbirds. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm.
