Wayne E. Bakenhester, 78, of Columbus, passed away April 2, 2018.
Wayne was born to John and Clara {Lee} Bakenhester.
He retired from Lucent Technologies after 37 years. Wayne loved to learn about the Civil War and travel to Gettysburg. He loved to garden and work in his yard. He was married to Linda Holmes for 57 years.
Wayne will be deeply missed by his wife; children Dee Dee (Ken) Crossley, Diane Bakenhester, Debbie Bakenhester; Sadie and Mitzi his beloved dogs along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his sisters Judy Link and Sharon Sanford and brother Earl Bakenhester.
Visitation Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, 43123.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11am at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Green Lawn.
