Wendell Spradlin, age 80 of Mt. Sterling, passed away on July 16, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Preceded in death by his parents Thurman and Bessie Spradlin; brothers Brad and Wilford; nephews Jeff and Billy; and daughter-in-law Crystal.
Survived by his wife of 59 ½ years, Carol; children David (Jerri) Spradlin, Barbara (Myron) Brown, and Tim (Renee) Spradlin; grandchildren Julie (Brian) Davis, Nicholas (Maria) Brown, Andrea Spradlin, Michelle Spradlin, Zachary Spradlin, Angela (Justin) Lewis, Beth (Stephen) Carr; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings Robert, Victor, Jewel, Kenny, and Marvin; and many nieces and nephews.
Member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Mt. Sterling where he served countless hours serving as a Sunday School teacher and Board Trustee. He also served as a 4-H advisor of the Mud Run Hustlers and member of the Madison County Fair Board.
Wendell worked for the Sterling Petroleum Co. for 22 years, farmed his family farm and then retired from Versa Corp. in 1997 due to his loss of vision.
His love of the Lord will leave an eternal impact on all that knew him. He loved his family dearly and will forever be remembered for his gentle and humble spirit.
Visitation will be held on Thursday July 20, 2017 at First Church of the Nazarene, 226 N Market St, Mt. Sterling, OH, from 4-8pm. A celebration of life service will be held at the church on Friday July 21, 2017 starting at 11am. Burial will follow at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, OH. Donations may be made in Wendell's memory to the First Church of the Nazarene, Mt. Sterling, OH.
