Willard Hawkins Sr.

Willard R. Hawkins Sr., 90, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Mt. Carmel East.
He was born January 12, 1924 in Columbus, son of the late William and Adalina Lipscomb Hawkins.
In addition to his parents, Willard was preceded in death by his wife, Vernell Hawkins; son, Willard Hawkins Jr.; daughter, Debbra Wheatley; brothers, Wyman and Wendell Hawkins.
He served in the Army during WWII and retired from DCSC with over 33 years of service.
Willard is survived by his son, Wesley (Eva-Nell) Hawkins Sr.; brother, Wallace (Pamela) Hawkins; nine grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, November 17, 2014 from 9:00-10:00 AM at Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3650 Sunbury Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM.
Interment will be in Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
