William "Butch" Bova Sr.

"Butch/Bill" Bova, 70, Columbus, Ohio, peacefully passed away, Wednesday, May 7, 2014, after spending the last few days with his loving family. Butch was born on Oct. 23, 1943, to John Bookhamer and Marilyn (Lehr) Bookhamer.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; step-father, John F. Bova; and sister, Connie Bookhamer. Survived by his son, William (Butchy) Bova II; daughters, Kathryn (Bova) Morris and Julie Robinson; granddaughters, Alyssa, Jaelynn, Nicole, Brianna and Taiya; brothers, Jack Bookhamer, Ted Bookhamer and John (Brenda) Bova; and sisters, Marjorie (Bookhamer), Leneh Sue (Roy) Gold and Janet (Dave) Otten.

Butch was a loving father and caring friend as well an entrepreneur who owned and managed many businesses including Bova's Speed Equipment, Centerfold Lounge, Bova's Pizzeria and Butch's Break & Run Cafe. He was also an inventor and quite proud of a recent patent, the Precision Rack. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, and moved with his son and daughter to Williamstown, W.Va., in 1992, and most recently resided in Parkersburg.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, Ohio. Burial and a graveside service will be at Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Rd. Columbus, Ohio, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, with Rev. Pamela Combs.
