William T. Debolt

William T., "Bill" Debolt, was born on October 26, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio, and passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026 at the age of 87, surrounded by his family.

When Bill was 2 years old, he was Master of Columbus. He worked hard his entire life, starting by carrying papers for the Dispatch for several years. He graduated from North High School in 1956. He worked at Cook and Indianola Sohio gas station to put himself through The Ohio State University, graduating in 1962. He met his wife, Carol, while working there pumping her gas and cleaning her windshield. Then he was a route supervisor at Wonder Bread/Hostess Cake for 12  years. He became a manager at McDonald's for 6 years and then owned Petland West Broad for 21 years before retiring. After retirement, he did part time sales and maintenance for Galyans/Dick's.

Bill enjoyed fishing, boating, OSU football, the Browns, Bengals and NASCAR.

Bill is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Carol; his sons, James (Sharon) of Lewis Center, and Jeffrey (Trina) of Streetsboro. He is also survived by his sisters, Joan Kordich of Shalimar, Florida and Karen Burkey of Alexandria; brother, Donald (Jan) of Lake Wales, Florida. He is survived by four grandchildren, Ryan (Jenna) of Canal Winchester, Cierra (Steve) of Westerville, Erika of Kent and Jeramy (Megan) of Ellwood City, PA. He has 5 great grandchildren he adored also, Scarlett, Rylan, Joslyn, Sage and Norma. He has many cousins, extended family and special dog, Mindy.

Family will welcome friends and loved ones on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. A memorial service will begin at 3:00pm at the funeral home, with Al Hoffman officiating.
