Listen to Obituary

William "Kirk" Hill, age 75, a cherished member of the Columbus, Ohio community, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 22,2026 after a long battle with cancer. Kirk was a man whose life story is one of dedication, resilience, and love. Born on December 19,1950, in Circleville, Utah, Kirk has lived a life that exemplifies strength and kindness, leaving a legacy that his family and friends hold dear.

Kirk was raised in Wheelersburg and a proud alumnus of Bloom High School (South Webster) graduating in 1969. His commitment to his country was demonstrated when he enlisted in the United States Army in 1970. Although his service was cut short due to a medical discharge, the values of loyalty and perseverance remained with him throughout his life.

For over four decades, Kirk traversed the highways as an over-the-road truck driver, a career that earned him the respect and admiration of his peers. Following his retirement from the trucking industry, he established his own auto repair business, where his reputation as a hardworking "Mr. Fix It" flourished. Many of Kirk's faithful customers became lifelong friends, a testament to his integrity and warmth.

A devoted member of Life in Christ Fellowship church, Kirk's faith was integral to his life. His spiritual community, especially Pastor Bob, was a source of strength and support, reflecting the values he held dear.

Kirk's love for fishing, particularly walleye fishing, was well-known among his loved ones. He eagerly anticipated his annual fishing trips, which were not just about the catch, but the cherished time spent with family and friends.

Kirk's family is at the heart of his life story. He is lovingly survived by his children; Steffanie (George) Harris, Heidi (Eric) Clear, Mark (Stacey )Hill, and Billy (Jennifer) Hill; Kirk's siblings, Larry (lda) Baker and Karen Miller; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; his significant other Diane Evanshine and her 3 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sue Hill; and several nephews and nieces also remain an important part of his extended family network.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Hill; mothers, Garnet Hill and Aiko Inouye Hill; his daughter, Pamela Mills; and siblings Beverly Stiles, Les Hill, Don Baker, Brenda Richmond, and Debbie Richmond. Their memories live on in the stories he shared and the love he gave.

Kirk's life is a testament to the power of hard work, community, and love. His legacy will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
