William Mitchell McNabb, known and loved as “Mitch,” brought warmth, laughter, and friendship to so many lives. Mitch, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 32.
Born in Columbus on August 9, 1994, to James and Martha McNabb, Mitch was kind, never met a stranger—young or old—and had an infectious smile and a contagious laugh.
Mitch attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help and graduated from Bishop Ready High School in 2013. He continued his education at Marietta College, earning a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations in 2017. As a pitcher for the Pioneers’ Division III baseball team, he helped Marietta win an Ohio Athletic Conference title in 2015. Mitch was happiest on the diamond with his teammates, and those friendships remained an important part of his life.
Away from baseball, Mitch found plenty of other ways to bring people together. He loved to cook, had recently perfected his reverse-searing technique, and started his own cooking blog, Mitch’s Dishes. He never passed up a karaoke microphone; all genres were at risk.
Golf meant time with his dad, and winning the Member-Member at Hickory Hills together was one of their proudest moments. Ohio State and Columbus Blue Jackets games brought a steady exchange of texts with his parents—a familiar part of their days that will be deeply missed.
Mitch was especially proud of his nephew, Griffin, and couldn’t wait to put a baseball glove or bat in his hands. He recently traveled to Italy for his goddaughter Winnie’s baptism, a special opportunity to celebrate with family.
Mitch is survived by his parents, James and Martha McNabb; his sister, Maria Clark, and her husband, Jacob; his nephew, Griffin Clark; his grandmother, Marilyn Molchan; his aunts and uncles, Sheri and Robert Brizendine, Mary and Marc Fleming, and Carolyn O’Donnell; his cousins, Jacob Fleming and his wife, Christine, Mackenzie McGonigle and his son, Maverick, Nicholas McGonigle, Quintin McGonigle, Mia McGonigle and her children, Hudson, Gabriella, and Warren, Mary Elizabeth Malone, Tommy O’Donnell III, and Patrick O’Donnell; and his goddaughter, Winnie Fleming.
He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Danielle “Dani” Wenger; many lifelong friends, colleagues, and fellow Marietta College baseball alumni; and his beloved doodles, Bogey and Archie.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronald Molchan, and his grandparents, William and Mary Elizabeth McNabb.
His family’s lives are forever changed by his absence. May he watch over those who love him as he rejoices in Heaven.
