William Francis "Bill" Popich, 84, passed away on July 25, 2017 following a battle with cancer. A long-time resident of Columbus, OH, he was born in Sygan, PA on August 23, 1932.
He was preceded in death by parents, William and Mary, and first wife, Rose. He is survived by wife, Louise; daughter, Marian (Richard) Neighbor; son, Bill (Pam) Popich; daughter, Rosemarie (the late Jeffrey) Clark; stepdaughter, Dawn (Mike) Cunningham; stepdaughter, Carrie (Boone) Stroud; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters; a brother; and an extended church family.
Bill served our county in the U.S. Air Force and then attended Duquesne University on the GI bill, graduating as a pharmacist in 1960. While pharmacy was his profession, music was his passion. Bill was an avid accordionist and long time member of the Central Ohio Squeezebox Society. In his retirement, he shared his musical talent at many nursing facilities, bringing much joy. Bill sang karaoke and especially enjoyed playing and dancing to polkas. A devout Roman Catholic, he considered himself blessed to have found his wife, Louise.
Visitation Monday, July 31, 2017 from 9 am until the time of Mass at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 584 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to Holy Family Christian Mothers at Holy Family Church.
