William R. Preston Sr.
March 10, 1931 — June 1, 2019
William R. Preston Sr., 88, passed away June 1, 2019. He was preceded in death by parents, Claude and Anna Preston; three brothers, Kenneth, Don, and Ralph Preston; half-brothers, Harold and Murray Mercier; daughter, Barbara Crawford.
William is survived by children, Maryann (David) McDowell, Sharon Preston, Billie J. Preston, William R. (Linda) Preston Jr., and Violetta Thomas; sister-in-law, Mildred Preston; son-in-law, Danny Crawford; 16 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Hollsinger; numerous nieces and nephews.
Our precious dad passed away Saturday. It's impossible to believe we will never again, in this life, see him. We took for granted that he'd always be here, that we could always call and he'd answer; that there was always time. That's not true. We wish we'd visited him more, called him more often, given him one more kiss and hug - and now time is up. He has always been the one constant person in our lives that loved us, no matter what, making sure we'd call him when we got home. He loved all of his six kids like that, never wanting to choose one over the other, in even the smallest things. He was a one woman man who lived for his family, raising all of us, eventually on his own. He wasn't one to say, I love you, but we never doubted that he did. He was an intelligent, humble, very hard working family man, full of honesty and integrity, and we miss him more than you could possibly understand. We know there is always going to be an emptiness that only his presence could ever fill. Everywhere we look in his house, we see him, and are truly heart broken. It will never be the same without him here and we will forever miss him. We love you so very much daddy. We'll see you later.
Visitation Friday, June 7, 2019 from 10am until the time of Funeral Service at 12pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Brown Road Community Church, 1553 Brown Rd., Columbus, OH 43223.
