William Rhoades

William "Bill" E. Rhoades, 82, of Columbus, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Kobacker House.
He was born January 10, 1932 in Columbus, son of the late Joseph and Ruth Ford Rhoades.
Bill was a 1950 graduate of Hilliard High School. He was a 42 year member of First Community Church and worked for Columbus Auto Parts with over 38 years of service. Bill enjoyed woodworking, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Janet Adams Rhoades; daughter, Amy (Jeff) Whetzel; son, Andrew Rhoades; sister, Kathleen (David Reisling) Chambers; grandchildren, Lucie, Thomas, Sadie Whetzel and many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Memorial service will be Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10:00 AM at First Community Church Marble Cliff, 1320 Cambridge Blvd. Columbus, with a gathering following the service from 10:30-12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or to the Kobacker House in honor of Bill.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather that will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.
He was born January 10, 1932 in Columbus, son of the late Joseph and Ruth Ford Rhoades.
