William R. "Bill" Stewart, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2018.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Nellie Stewart; sister, Mary Katherine Kackley and his former wife, Lillian Marie Stewart.
Bill is survived by his children, Patricia Sims, James Stewart and Elaine (Gary) Poole; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Lynch; best lifelong friend, Carl Basham as well as many loving nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Bill led an extraordinary life; he served 3 tours during World War II and graduated with a Master's Degree in Journalism from Mexico City College.
He worked for many notable companies during his life, but his passion was folk and ballroom dance.
The family will receive friends from 4-6pm, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Newcomer Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231 where the funeral service will be held following at 6:00pm.
