William A. Thomas, 93, died peacefully on July 9, 2017, at his residence at Oakleaf Village of Columbus.
He served in the U. S. Army as a Specialist 5 in India during World War II.
Born February 11, 1924, in Majestic, Kentucky, he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Irene Bender, and his second wife, Connie M. (Galilei) Beum-Thomas.
Survived by step-sons Frank (Jan) Beum of Suwanee, Georgia, and John (Kris) Beum of Oakland, Florida; grandchildren Michael (Lisa), Ethan (Shelby), Nathaniel, Sarah (fiancé Alex Schmidt), Elizabeth and Tony Beum; and great-grandchildren Hunter and Luce.
Family will receive visitors from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, with services to begin at 11:00 am at the same location. Interment to follow at Berkshire Cemetery, Sunbury, Ohio.
