William "Bill" C. Wade, 79, resident of Columbus since 1955, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Mt. Carmel East.
He was born August 24, 1934 in Rocky Mount, VA, son of the late Taft and Della Tyree Wade.
Bill served in the Army.
He graduated from the University of Dayton with a Master's Degree and also the Graduate School of Credit and Financial Management at Dartmouth College.
Bill received the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America.
He was a fellow member of The National Institute of Credit and a Notary Public.
Bill retired from Abbott (Ross Labs Division) with 26 years of service.
He donated over 18 gallons of blood to the Red Cross.
Bill traveled in all 50 states and also enjoyed gardening, golfing and baseball.
He is survived by his wife, Mary "Frances" Prunty Wade; daughter, Pamela (Pierre) Harlin; sons, Marcus and Carl Wade; sisters, Sadie Tuning and Lucy Young; granddaughter, Carmen Wade; step grandchildren, Rico and Pierra Harlin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, June 27, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
Funeral service will be Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 9:30 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Blendon Central Cemetery.
