With sadness and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Woody Huston (47) of Powell, Ohio. Woody was a father to two boys, Jack (15) and Lucas (12). Married to Andria (Smith) in 2007, married for 18 years, but together for 30 years; although they were recently separated, they remained very committed to raising their boys together with love and maintaining their family and their friendship. In addition to his sons and his wife, he is also survived by his parents Phil & Deb Huston (Helke) of Dayton, Ohio, sisters Kelly Conner (Oats) & family of Lithia, Florida & Marci Ward (Oats) & family of Dallas, Texas, and brother Ryan Huston of Oberlin, Ohio.
Always down for a road trip, he was a fun and spontaneous father who loved taking his boys on long drives, to parks, and to sporting events, which made up for his tendency to tell the worst dad jokes on repeat. He loved to spend time with his family traveling and hiking in nature. He enjoyed gardening and had a large, ever-growing collection of house plants that brought him a lot of joy. His love of gardening, plants, and nature led him to several jobs that allowed him to put his green thumb to good use (lawn care, greenhouse work, and groundskeeping to name a few.) Woody was loving and generous; he would give you the shirt off of his back without a thought. He loved art and music, spending hundreds of hours over the last three decades of his life listening to music & seeing live music that moved his soul. He was a friend to many and as a testament to his loyalty, had quite a few life-long friends who he thought of as brothers. As said by his favorite band, Grateful Dead, "fare thee well, fare thee well, we love you more than words can tell." Woody will be forever loved and missed by those lucky enough to be in his orbit.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life this summer with a date to be determined soon.
